YEA celebrated our 20th Anniversary with a Gala and a tribute to actress, activist and national treasure, RUBY DEE. With an incredible tribute from the ensemble, a proclamation from the City of Atlanta presented by Councilman Bond and a gracious acceptance delivered from the stage, YEA was thrilled to honor Mrs. Dee. YEA's inaugural honoree, Georgia Allen, was on hand to help with the festivities.
The evening began with a Gala reception as part of our second fundraising event. The tribute to Mrs. Dee, presented by Tony-nominated actor Thomas Byrd, Sr., was the prologue to an amazing performance of YEAH, I SAID IT! The evening was capped with YEA's 20th Birthday Party - featuring 20 cakes - with the ensemble, alumni, cast, board and audience members.
